lot of activity on the blog today, and i can't tell you how immensely this pleases me. anyone reading this blog who hasn't been bothering with the comments sections has been missing a whole lot of fun, i can tell you that much.
here's to all the speculative/science/graphic fiction/fantasy geeks out there. and the non-geeks as well.
what say we all get together in the "real world" sometime for what i like to call "cokes and smokes" (that's my phrase for coffee and cigarettes, for the rhyming slang [RS]-impaired), depending on your preferred poison?

What is it with local spec fic writers and their poison? Though it seems like that most of us prefer cigarettes and coffee over cigarettes and beer.
i don't think it's limited to spec fic writers, bc. like my editors say, writers only die of either one of two things: their livers or their lungs.
as for the coffee vs. beer issue, we should probably conduct a survey for that.
actually a small but significant percentage of them get killed first before they even get the chance to get decently diagnosed with some fatal lung or liver disease.
oof. that comment shouldabeen titled 'count the number of times i said "get" and win a prize.' heh.

True though I was just thinking about Dean and his crew. I've seen them handle mostly cigarettes (and sometimes coffee) but nary a mention of beer.
And then there's always Nick Joaquin and his love affair with San Miguel beer...

anyone else been to beer paradise? that place is awesome... though i could never go there on my salary... unless i forgo dinner and gas for 1 bottle of that really cool belgian beer i can't remember the name of...
I've never been for alcohol though I smoke like a chimney. :-)
